“Hearts Unfailing” and a beautiful Bride!

The other day I received an email from a guy named Andrew Sorlie who works at a company called  Honey And Dear, who do beautiful High end wedding videos. Andrew said he had licensed one of my songs (Hearts Unfailing) from TheMusicBed.com for a clients wedding video and wondered if I ever toured to Canada, where he and the company are located. He also sent me a link to the video. Its absolutely beautiful. Full of Culture, Beautiful people, Private planes and Rolls Royces! Thanks Andrew! Ill be in Canada soon!

Licensing music as an Indy Artist…

Recently I was contacted by a friend of a friend who told me of an ingenious plan he had in the works to create a new way for Indy musicians to License there music and asked if I was interested in being involved. The Plan was for a company called The Music Bed. After hearing more about Nic Carfa’s plan, I signed the paper work to license my music through Nic’s company before the web site for The Music Bed had even gone live. The idea is simple. Nic is leaving licensing music for commercial use to the other guys. Instead Hes focusing the following:

The music from The Music Bed can be used in any non-broadcast wedding and photography projects, and any non-profit or church related media. A few people that can use The music bed are: Wedding Photographers, Portrait photographers, wedding videographers, Non profit organizations, Ministries and Churches and Production companies.

I told you it was genius idea. Laws are getting more and more strict about the illegal use of copy written music. As I’m sure you’ve seen, So many videos pulled off of YouTube for the illegal use of Music lately. I even read an article last week that said, some states are pushing for the illegal use of copy written music to be considered a felony. So what happens when there a song playing on the radio behind the video of your best friends birthday party, or you want to post your wedding video on FaceBook or YouTube??? Well, You can take your chances, or You can Use The Music Bed.

The best part about it for Artists is that it costs nothing to join The Music Bed, You can cancel anytime and if Someone licenses your music through The Music Bed, its a 50/50 split between the artist and the music bed.

I have ZERO affiliation with Nic at The Music Bed, But wanted to share this information because I truly believe what he’s doing is a great thing.

Nic even Licensed a song from me for a promotional video for The Music Bed called “Hearts Unfailing” off my first EP Faithful. See the video above.

Yep, I’m officially announcing that we have a new drummer! One of my best friends in the world, Brad Nyght! The former drummer of the Desperation Band has been a great friend of mine for five years. After leaving the D Band and staring his own company www.TheBakeryStudios.com , I finally got brad and his amazing wife D to move to TX! Brad’s an amazing producer and engineer….Oh and drummer! D is an amazing singer and fashionista! Brad officially joined the band last week and I’m crazy excited! Having such a great friend and musician on the team is a dream come true. He definitely brings the band to a whole new level. And The Blonde (my wife) loves to hang with D! Welcome to the band Brad!
